A good garden design starts with how you want to use the space. You might want somewhere to sit in the evening sun, a lawn for children to play on, a low-maintenance front garden, or a mix of all three. Casey Jones helps you work out what will suit your garden and your budget, then builds it.
Because the same person plans and carries out the work, the ideas you talk through are the ones that get built. There is no hand-off between a designer and a separate team.
Designed around how you live
Before any lines are drawn, it helps to answer a few simple questions. Where does the sun fall at different times of day? Where do you want to sit? How much time do you want to spend looking after the garden each week? Do you need space for bins, bikes or a shed? The answers shape the layout far more than any trend.
Bringing the pieces together
Most garden designs combine several jobs that Casey already does: clearing the space, laying a patio or path, building a low wall, laying turf, planting trees and shrubs, and finishing borders with mulch. Planning them together means each part is done in the right order and the finished garden feels like one space rather than a set of separate projects.
Working to a budget
A design does not have to be built all at once. If the budget is limited, the work can be split into stages, for example the patio this year and the planting next spring, with each stage planned so it fits with what comes later.
